Strategic Guessing
In Pinpoint, your score depends on how many clues you needed. Here's how to keep that number low.
Wait for the Second Clue
Unless the first clue is extremely specific (like "Eiffel Tower"), it's almost always better to reveal the second clue. This drastically reduces the number of potential categories.
Look for the "Broadest" Word
Identify which of the revealed words belongs to the most categories. Then, see if the other words fit into those same categories. If "Apple" and "Microsoft" are revealed, don't just think "Fruit" - think "Tech Companies".
Common Category Themes
LinkedIn often cycles through specific types of categories:
- Professional terms: Marketing, Finance, Engineering.
- Global Geography: Country capitals, rivers, mountain ranges.
- Pop Culture: Famous actors, movie titles, musicians.
- Everyday Objects: Office supplies, kitchen tools, types of vehicles.
The "Niche" Trap
Don't get too specific. If the words are "London", "Paris", and "Tokyo", the category is likely "Capital Cities", not "Cities with Underground Subways".
